Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Couple of cool pictures...

This was at a race thing up in Wisconsin...

This is me and a couple friends. We took the picture because notice how each bike is a different color, but they all share the overall color scheme. Each bar tape is the color of one of the other frames too...

I raced. It was very informal, sort of a scavenger hunt. Ridiculously long actually. They gave us this huge map that was reduced to an 8.5x11 and was totally unreadable. I was lost the whole time. My group kind of got bored/tired about 2/3 through and that is when we hung the bikes up and got some food.

lord of the chainrings, huh. i almost went to that. i don't have a way to get to madison, unfortunately, and riding out there and then trying to race certainly wasn't very high on my list of things to do.

Those bikes are geared high!!!
i ride a 49x15 on the street
