Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? That seat looks like a prostrate pounder. Or a Ti paper airplane.

Wow, yeah, that Serotta is nuts.

Also, why do people give their bikes lame names like Blackbird? Give a bike a name with some panache, like D. Rutherford Wallingsfordworth, Esq. or Manuel Stimulation.

"Here... mebbe an *original* Schwinn Paramount Team 6-Day bike works better for ya. It's circa 1938 and is probably the start of the high-end lug scene for the USA. This one is numbered "1"."

Bruce Gordon ti mini clips. Hopefully those are "display only" as well given that tall looking gear ratio.

So kinda off-topic, but I've always wondered why they don't still make stems like the one on that Paramount. Adjustable is good, no? Maybe it's just too heavy with the added hardware? Still, it's gorgeous.
