Eye protection at night

I'm tired of wrecking and having my glasses ejected from my face at 20mph, causing permanent gouges in the lenses. So I bought sunglasses to wear instead but wearing them at night has only caused more wrecks. What kind of cheap glasses can I wear at night that are totally clear and don't look like something from the woodshop?

edit - Might as well tack this along with this thread:

Where can I find cool elbow pads?? Any NOS 80s BMX?

Ryders has some cheap options w/ swappable lenses.
Tifosi has some nicer automagically tinting ones.

Home Depot is a good start. Safety goggles have gotten a lot less dorky sense you took chemistry in 8th grade. This one is $12.

edit- these are bifocals, but you get the idea.

What about croakies?

I wear prescription glasses and they have always done well by me. Not neccessarily the most stylish thing but beats $300 for new glasses.

"Can I convert this big wheel into a fixie?"

amber at night is bad i was in the marines...trust me...use NVGS at all time for spec ops night riding...for all normal riding use clear lenses.

edit, blue is the WORST at night...red is the BEST

Usually way to dark - think dark brown. No different in light transmission than an average gray lens. For night use, the darkest you would want to use is yellow. Clear is better.

Have you tried contact lenses? I like them much more than glasses because my vision is effing terrible (-9/20, no lie) and contacts allow me to have great peripheral vision. You really don't even notice them if you keep them clean.

get some of those headband things that slide over the arms of the glasses. a bit dorky, but if you gotta wear the glasses at night, itl get the job done.

+1

i use contacts and they work great. i was worried about them drying out at first, but after awhile they stayed moist throughout a long day. downside is they are expsensive, but only every year or so.

Yeah I'm alright without 'em, which is why I wear sunglasses when it's bright out.

Those on the Uvex site looked mighty tempting. If they're cheap, I'm buying the **** out of them.

https://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-UVEX-SUN...QQcmdZViewItem

Somebody with too much money should also buy those.
