WTF? Trackstar's site BLOCKED
Yes, yes, I know that I should be working, but I found out in a dull moment last week that my (enormous) company's ****ty network software has blocked trackstarnyc.com as a "Malicious Websites, Security pg" (whatever that means) site. Why, God, why? I just want to salivate over the neat parts in peace and they've taken it away from me.
Also, wanted to give our friends at T* a heads-up in case they've made any changes to their site recently that could have gotten them on this list. From what I understand, my company has a third-party vendor that manages the website blocking application for them. There's been quite a bit of controversy about these services because left-leaning and radical organizations that have no reason to be blocked will periodically appear on their lists.

yes - there are a few big names out there (surfcontrol, websense) that host servers with blocked "catagories." Many other companies that offer URL/Content filtering use these servers for a fee. hence the larger amount of blocking on this site. not sure these comapnies subscribe to specific left-wing agendas, so I would wait until they figure out who killed Kennedy before springing into X-Files mode.
either way: congrats T*, you appear to have made these lists. your award is in the mail
edit: it may have to do with skin tones - some of these filters operate based on these, as well as other, metrics when blocking. i have not checked, nor am I really all that curious.

i just tried at my work, and it is blocked for the same reason. i don't really go to trackstar's site so i don't care about that but it's really annoying because everything's blocked. the worst is photobucket and flickster being blocked.

use a linux live-cd distro.
put the disc onto cd-r
and reboot
or you can try what was once known as torpark broswer: https://www.xerobank.com/xB_browser.html
it's based on firefox and uses the TOR network for top security.

I'm a nurse and my work internet connection didn't let me look at a site cos it was health related. Life is designed to make you cry.
