no, that paint swatch that you're talking about was there before any mention of the new shipment.

so what do people who normally ride a 55/56 do? get the 53cm? a 55cm top tube is pretty nice but 53cm C-T(!) seattube seems like the seat-to-bar drop would be really uncomfortable? have to use a high rise stem?

I gotta ask you guys, it seems like almost all of you buy the complete and just change out every part. What's the point of buying all the junky parts you know you're going to get rid of? I'd rather save some $$$ and buy some better parts to hang on it.

Well, you can probably buy the Kilo and sell the junky parts on the inflated eBay market to make a few bucks back. Also, I'd wager that many of these people didn't buy them thinking that they would upgrade. They just saw a cheap track bike and figured "why not?" Finally, judging from the number of people who can't shut up about a standalone Kilo TT/Flite 100/whatever frameset, it seems that lots of people feel like the complete Kilo isn't a good investment for exactly the reasons you mentioned.

If I were to do it again I would prolly just buy the frame set, all I have left are the frame, fork, headset and seat clamp.

Personally for me, it wasn't a one-session build from the ground up. The new/better components came in steps. The steps pretty much revolved around getting my paychecks. Therefore I needed something to ride in the meantime.

Though, I managaged to put parts, that I have lying around, on an old road frame and use the "okay" truvativ drivetrain and the "okay" wheelset to build up and sell a conversion for $250. Not bad.

I'm going to order this later today, maybe. I'm 6'1 what size would be best to go with? If I go to a LBS what would be a good bike in comparison with the Mercier as far as sizing, performance, price ect..

Don't be that jerk who wastes a bike shop's time in order to find out what size frame to go any buy online.

It would be in better taste and take the time and read this thread (earlier pages) to see what other guys that're 6'1 went with. It's in here.

Exactly. The Kilo is one of, if not the cheapest ride while you upgrade bikes around. Im a broke ass college student with only enough to upgrade once a blue moon, so having an inexpensive bike I can dump parts on slowly is perfect.

1. Buy complete Kilo
2. Buy all upgraded parts
3. Switch upgrades to Kilo
4. build conversion with Kilo parts
5. Sell conversion=free Kilo

I just felt it was worth the extra $150 to buy the complete, that prety much pays for the wheelset and gives you the rest of the parts free.

I can always use parts for other cheaper builds for the Gf, friends, etc.

First learn how to properly write a sentence then post, thanks. If you actually read my original post you'd realize that I wasn't just looking to buy a bike online, I'm looking for something just as good in comparison with the Kilo that I'd be able to find at a LBS. Maybe next time if you actually read an entire post you'd come to a conclusion, idiot. Next time read before making stupid assumptions is all, carry on.
