Why toe clips and not clipless?

I'm so used to using clipless like spd and speedplay.
Why do you choose to run toe clips instead?
I'm assuming the ability to not have to wear special shoes might be one reason...

You just answered your own question. Considering a lot of people use their fixed ride as transportation, it makes little sense to have to carry a spare pair of shoes with you. I prefer clipless by far, but as just stated it sucks to have to take a second pair of shoes to class/work/bars.
