Fixed gear group buy offer #1 - Miche Groupo

Ok well I finally have something to post and get this thing kicked off. These offers are totally open to anyone on any forum and regardless if they took part in the other group buy.

So here it is. Worldclasscycles.com is willing to give us $50 off the Miche Groupo they sell on their web site if we can generate >20 orders...if we can get orders for >40 groupos there will be an additional $10 discount so the prices work out to be $345 plus shipping and $335 plus shipping.

What you get: All parts are Miche: Cranks with all of their standard options for length and ring size, matching BB, headset, hubset, cog (again size from their standard selection), lockring, chain and seatpost.

The terms: With your order you must give a 50% deposit which will only be refunded if we do not reach the 20 order min. Once we get to 20 orders your money is non refundable.

It will take roughly 2 months from the close of the order to get the components as they come from Italy...this time could be shorter but it also may not be. Balance of the cost is due before the items are shipped.

Orders can be phoned in, faxed in https://worldclasscycles.com/WCC-order-form.htm or emailed, however it is not advisable to e mail credit card info.

This is the page on thier website pertaining to the buy https://worldclasscycles.com/miche_groupo_buy

Order period will end on April 20th.

Edit: Ok I really thought we cleared this up. No one has to loose 4%...not even those that pay with a CC. the only time you are going to loose 4% is if you request that your refund be charged back to your CC. No matter how you pay, if we don't get 20 orders you will be issued a check for your funds from World Class Cycles unless you request that your refund be charged back to your CC.

There is no risk that you will loose any money here if we don't get the min orders.

Despite what my head tells me, I'm in on this deal. Pedals are included too, right? Anyone here interesing in possibly splitting the group? I really only want the crankset, BB and seatpost.

what brand will the other groupo be, or are you still working that out?

i'm definitely interested in this buy, though.

No...no pedals...this is $50 (or $60 if we get more than 40 orders) off of the standard groupo WCC offers which does not include the pedals (even though their picture shows them). Everything else though.

The other buy should be Sugino cranks (either RD or 75, you get to pick) with a KMC chain, Soma cog and seatpost, headset (Shiamno or Cane Creek depending on threaded or threadless) then the option to add items like Chris King headsets, wheels, saddles, tires, brakes and so on.

Not that I need all that stuff, but I'm a sucker for deals.

Interested to see what #2 is though. Sounds like it offers more 'customizable' options, which is appealing.

Their website is really short on details. What model are the seatpost, cranks, and hubs? (Forgive me if Miche only makes one kind of one or all three of those items)

how much more expensive would this one be? and would the discount be larger, or are you still ironing out all these details?

sorry, i'm bored at work..haha.

Miche only makes one of each in the Pista line. The hubs are the high flange.

Still ironing out the details. The 75 setup will be more expensive and the RD will be less expensive that is for sure. Neither of those comes with hubs but there is an option for built wheels

im comming into this whole group buy thing a little late, so i dont want to be "that guy" and tell you to do it different.. but...

is it possible that one of the people on the board that are bike shop employees could talk to their boss and see if we can work a group discount through them? id assume that if a shop owner had someone ask if they could sell a groupo via the interweb to a bunch of people that would never come to the store anyway, it may be of interest.

either way, thanks for putting these groups together and the second one seems like it may be right up my alley!

To play devils advocate to that...most LBS are not setup to do mail order let alone deal with a large not in store deal like this. I did talk to my LBS and they didn't want to touch it.

Internet retailers on the other hand seem to welcome these sort of offers because it is similar to how they work every day, and they generally work in larger volumes anyway.

Chucksbikes has the group shown minus the seatpost and headset, but with the pedals, for $310.

Just a few things to point out:

That's a picture from the group no longer in production. To my knowledge, none of the machining on parts changed, just the paint and decals.

Chucksbikes has a deal on this group, but he doesn't have the seatpost or all of the options. Neithere appear to have a headset included. Depends what you're really after.
