Should I be worried about that? I'll get it replaced soon, but is it dire? Should I not ride until I replace it?

Do not ride without all your bolts. Chainrings are aluminum, they can fold like paper without the structure of of the crank.

Damn. Alright, thanks. I have to get the bolt hole re-tapped I think, and I'm pretty broke right now and don't know when I'll be able to afford it if it's expensive.

is it stripped on the crank (like stuck together)? If so, it wouldn't be that bad to ride on it. If not, goto a LBS a buy a new one for a dollar. And if it is stuck on and you want to get it off, you will have to drill it out, then buy a replacement for a dollar.

Do you have those cranks that are tapped in the spider? If so, no need to retap. Just get a regular stack bolt with threads on the "female" end and throw it on there. If you need a little room because of the remaining threads just drill it out---be careful to use just the right size.

Yes. I have seen this happen, and it was right as someone was *about* to pull into traffic. Luckily no one got hurt.

Good to know that it won't be expensive. I was trying to do that thing that Sheldon talks about with chain-tension, and I don't think it even made any noticable difference. Half my chain will be taught while the other half will give +/- .5" Oh well, live and learn.
