104mm 5-bolt chainring anyone?

i know this is a question involving a bike with gears and a freewheel (and even brakes!! shock, horror!!). i've posted in teh mtb forum but i reckon the singlespeed and fixie riders may have a little more savvy in this department.

I have bought myself a very nice set of RAceface next LP craks. only to find that raceface nolonger make thier DH singlespeed chainrings in 5-bolt, 104mm. it's not for a singlespeed setup, i just don't need 27 gears, 9 wil do.

the nice thing about the DH chainring was no ramps or pins and fitted the cranks without the need for inner chainrings, they made it in 52t size and it wold only cost about 40dollars. Now i cant find a DH (or any type) chainring that will fit the cranks, and those babies were exspensive, so i wont be going out and buying new cranks in a hurry.

anyone know of DH chainrings with 104mm bolt diameter to fit 5-arm cranks? preferably 52t in size, but at this stage i'd settle for 46, 48, 49t..

or does anyone know of any small bike co. that would make them? i wonder would IRO make them?

help really appreciated

One reason you probably can't find it is because the 104 size is a 4 arm size. 5 arm compact was 94mm. I don't recall any MTB company ever making a 52T ring in compact, the whole idea of compact sizing was smaller rings on the cranks. Typical compact big rings are 42 and 44.

Look in the QBP catalog for Surly, Salsa, and Blackspire. You'll find unramped rings by them, but I doubt you'll find any 52's in 5 arm compact built by anyone. If you've got a 5 arm 110 bolt pattern you've got a better shot.

I can't speak to 52T in particular (I kind of doubt it too, but who knows), but I just slapped an unramped 44T MEC brand ring on my winter bike that cost 10 bucks on closeout - try mec.ca. They definitely sell nicer Blackspire rings with a 94 bcd that are more expensive than that, but cheaper than xt or xtr replacement rings and in your choice of ramped or unramped.
