When to replace BB?
I disassembled my bike to clean it and I'm suspicious I need a new BB. If I spin the crank slowly it seems like there are ruts where the crank wants to stop. I don't remember if it was like that when I installed it about 2 years ago. Does it need to be replaced?
I'm hoping that I do need a new BB because I have been hearing a mystery clicking/taping noise. Replacing it might solve the noise. It happens when I'm biking uphill or going over a rough road. I'm pretty sure it's only when I'm putting a lot of stress on the crank. It's not a rhythmic sound, though not completely irregular either. I don't think it's the chain ring because it seems tight enough.
