Fixed gear bike for short person

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a production line fixed gear bike suitable for someone 5'3" and standover height of around 28"? I am having a hard time finding a bike that will fit as my legs are on the short side i.e. reach is comfortable but no clearance or adequate clearance and scrunched up top. The 50cm IRO Jamie Roy is borderline and right up there, the 49cm Pista hardly has any clearance and while the 46cm IRO Mark V HD has good clearance (27") it is too much (or little) of a munchkin bike for me with a TT that is too short and 650 wheels. Thanks for your help in advance.

Have you tried the 49 cm Fuji Track? Standover is close to 30 inches though...

49cm langster
has about 28.

Ms. Gios who hangs in foo has a fuji, might want to pm her or page her over there.

Thanks for the advice. The Langster is just plain ugly and I am really trying to avoid Al. The Fuji track looks nice but again, clearance. Oh well, might have to cough up the extra $$.

I had the exact same problem. I'm almost 5'4" with about a 28" standover. I looked for a bike forever and ended up going with a fixed Cross Check, 42 cm. Best decision I ever made. The bike fits great and is super durable. It costs a little more than the other alternatives mentioned but I feel it was definitely worth it.

is the 49cm pake slightly smaller than the 49cm san jose? i ride the san jose right now, but i feel like it's the tiniest bit too big. - i'm 5'5, but have short legs

my bf says i should just go get measured at a good bike shop.

Thanks for all the advice. In the end I decided to go with the EAI Brass Knuckle Frame in XS. It isn't the Bare Knuckle unfortunately, and is Al, but it will do for my first fixed gear It doesn't look terribly classic but I chose it because it accomodates 700c wheels and clearance isn't an issue with the sloping top-tube (!) Bah.

Blinksaw182, what is the wheel size on your Cross-Check?

Haha, I liked it enough to buy it. I bought it in "File Cabinet Grey". I just prefer a more classic looking geometry with a straight top-tube. If money were no object I would have jumped on the pink bandwagon and bought the EAI Bare-Knuckle in pink.

fuji also makes an extra small version of the track.

https://www.fujibikes.com/2007/bikes.asp?id=287&subcat=2

it weighs in at an astounding 43cm. it also rolls on 650s. kinda cute i think.

They're 700c. I had a couple of options at 650c but wanted the bigger wheels.

This is exactly what I would suggest. I know a local girl who
picked one up and it looks great and fits her well. I'm not sure
of her height, but it's no more than 5'3". The wheels are 650c,
but this makes for a better bike, if a slightly less convenient
tire to find.

I read something that said that the lowest stand over height possible for a perfectly horizontal TT with 700c wheels and 23mm tires is 30 inches. anything less and the head tube would be almost nonexistant. my bike has a 48.5cm seat tube and I think it's still just over 30 inches. I'm 5'4...it's a little tall for me - my 49cm fuji fit better because the TT slopes a little, and center to center I think the seat tube is really 47cm. whatever, I learned how not to crush my balls on the TT real quick.
