Reusing spokes

right now i have a pair of deep v's laced to a formula hub and I want to put a different color deep v rim on there. My question is, can i relace it using the current spokes or do/should i buy new spokes? thanks for your help

This is a very old debate. One side says to replace everytime and the other says that used tensioned spokes are better than new. I may not be explaining it well, a little strung out on day quill. I would say that you are fine to reuse. If you start breaking spokes than you may want to relace it.

tape all the crosses together when you take the rim out and itll all hold its shape minus the rim. Then add the new rim in. Works pretty well. Stick the new rim to the spokes and lace it up, like u lace your shoe. Er sumthin'.

I say use them if they're still fresh and straight.

This seems like a good idea.

I will not comment on doing it just to change the color of a Deep-V.

Just line up the rims, tape them together, and swap spokes over. Ridiculously easy.

I've re-used the same set of spokes on like 3 re-builds on one wheel. Not a problem.
