Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Lets see the Pink bikes

Getting ready to build my wife a single speed. She is far more concerned with the 'look' that I am, and asked me to post this.

She is thinking white and pink or pink and white. I had seen a couple bikes in those colors posted already but could not find them with a search.

I was thinking a IRO Mark V HD (She is barely 5'2") but it not coming in white means I would have to buff and paint the frame or else listen to endless complaints over her fashionable sensibility.

Love, Peace, and Hair Grease.

White frame, pink wheels. Much easier.

I'm going to paint my girlfriends bike pink with black components. Here is a link to a thread of one of the pink and white bikes on this forum.

Bareknuckle comes in pink as a standard color, if $600 isn't out of the question...

this will probably help:

Pink Bike Cluster

also, I don't think that cluster has been updated very recently, so if you just search "pink" on velospace you'll get a list of like a thousand bikes which are pink or have something that is pink...

This was my first fixed bike and I still can't bring myself to dismantle it, though it's not currently rideable; only ended up with a pink theme because that was the color of the frame I got. As a tribute I put pink rims and pink/white/black tape on my new bike. It would look much pinker with pink Velocity rims; I don't have any pictures, but I'm sure you can find lots of pink bikes and accents with a search of this forum.

Unmarked road frame though, and this is the factory color. I guess that doesn't help.

I prefer the look of white frame with pink wheels, but my suggestion would be to look for an old 650c time-trial or tri bike to convert. You'd get traditional geometry and get to pick your colour scheme. Plus, if it matters, you can pick up nice 650 wheels or rims cheaply secondhand.

The gf rides a fixed bright pink Peugeot step-through; white bars, yellow deep-Vs. I don't have a picture right now, because I'm just so focking lazy.
