when you take the bracket hanger off the lock, you are left with a little bare metal; what did you do to cover it? electrical tape? fuel line? didn't worry about it?

i just electrical taped it. i wouldn't worry too much, it probably won't touch your frame that much.

What's wrong with leaving it on? It's not heavy.

I just left the shackle bare. I agree that the hanger gets in the way/gets loose if you leave it on (which I did for a while).

I took the bracket off as well, and the biggest problem I have is that is ALWAYS gets stuck on my back pocket when I pull it out. Its the tiniest little lip, but it really bothers me. I thought about electrical tape, but wouldn't it start to slide a litte and then leave stickiness everywhere?
No problem with it hitting my frame while locking.
Paid $25 shipped from amazon. they had a deal where if you bought a cable for like 3 bucks you ended up saving 7 bucks in shipping, cuz the total of lock + cable earned you free shipping.

Electrical tape shouldn't slide around at all as long as you stretch the tape so it goes on tightly.

i can imagine that if you were really worried about having that exposed portion, you could go get some rubber hose from the hardware store. 1/2" ID should work and give a fairly snug fit, since I think the actual measurement is 13mm on those bulldog mini tc jams.

From what I've read, it seems like a wash between this and the Evo Mini. I want to switch to a mini lock, and this is like half the price of the krypto.
Anyone in this immediate thread want to ad a bit of first hand experience?

The lock is sturdy, and I have had good experience with OnGuards in the past. Overall, seems like a great deal.

Buy the TC. It scores nominally higher in tests (a few seconds longer to cut than the Evo Mini) and it costs considerably less. My first hand experience is that it's a great lock and no one's stolen my bike in a year and a half of daily use!

the locking mechanism isn't as smooth as the bulldog line, but the shackle is the same thickness. I dig mine, and bought it due to the fact that you plug the shackle into the lock cylinder; very easy to lock to stuff.
