You assume that I have had my Brooks four months; not sure why. I clearly stated that I rode my Selle Italia for four months everyday. I have had my brooks three weeks and the only reason it got the 10-15 miles was because I took it from my fix gear that still has no wheelset and put it on my road bike for a ride.

I ate some of the steaks that came from the cow used to make your Brooks. They were yummy.

The intent of my original post was to point out that the Selle Italia is nice, but wears out quick. Secondly, it was to say that I don't seem to have the initial comfort issue with my Brooks, that others have reported with their's.

Assuming the morons in this thread are finished with ******** derailment attempt # 782:
Selle Italia's Rever is made of lorica (synthetic), super light at 190 grams, and pretty comfy.
If you regularly ride +60 miles, opt for the Rever K, also made of lorica-- slightly heavier at 240 grams, but noticeably more comfortable on longer rides.
I've ridden both extensively, and recommend them highly.

Sorry, you asked for links...

Check out their most recent catalog.
Every saddle but three of their classics is carbon, magnesium or lorica.

i have an aliante that is synthetic except for small patches of leather.
but really it doesn't matter because the process to make synthetic saddles ****s up the earth and the process to make leather saddles ****s up the earth.
eventually you have to come to terms with the realization that 99% of things you do is going to have a negative impact, so, if you're set on a saddle, it shouldn't matter if its leather or not, the end result is the same.

If you're looking vegan, isn't this like being a little bit pregnant?

Trust me when i say that most vegans are such more because of the horrendously inhumane state of the factory farming industry than the ecological impact of said industry.

this guy is really cool. I mean, REALLY REALLY cool. I bet he has huge nuts.
Anyways, I have had really nice experiences with synthetic saddles made by specialized as was mentioned before. My two cents from experience. Those Selle San Marco's that were mentioned before also look really nice, though I've never ridden one. I would think my first action would be to stroll into the local bike shop and when asked "can I help you find something" par usual, I would politely respond "yeah, could you help me locate a selection of saddles which arent made utilizing animal products?" If they dont have something you like on the shelf, chances are they will help you get one.

yup guess its better to use more energy, create more waste, use more petrochemicals in the manufacturing of a plastic pleather saddle, than to use readily available leather that is natural. And lets be serious here, do you honestly think your plastic saddle is going to make a difference in the grand scheme of the earth, considering that everyday millions of tons of pollutants, billions of tons of garbage are created are dumped back into the earth. (dont forget to add your plastic saddle to that garbage when it wears out, it wont degrade any, unlike a real leather saddle that will degrade properly)
and also, if you dont agree with his beliefs, to bad, shove it, shut your mouth, and butt out.

i just got a soma ensho saddle and i am really happy with it - https://store.somafab.com/soensa.html
just a warning, the Kashimax 5 Gold 4P's are synthetic and really nice looking so i got one of those first, you need to have an ass/taint of steel to ride around on that thing.

Why is it that whenever veganism is mentioned, all the meat eaters have to show their machismo by making some unfunny comment about eating some large hunk of meat?

It has nothing to do with being macho . . . it has everything to do with the fact that vegans seem to want to always talk about "not" eating meat - - I think they're just making a political statement, really.
