I like how they're brown and will match the color scheme of my future maroon steamroller and brooks saddle. They're also cheaper than what I was considering getting, Toshi single straps. Yeah, I'm sure they're not AS good, but are these Cinelli Binda ones garbage or still good for the price?

Yes I searched, but couldn't find anything about Cinelli Binda, just "Binda", which I cannot even really find info on..

Perhaps I recieved a defective model, but ime these straps are low quality.

I've been riding a pair for 3 months top now, and the straps are incredibley scuffed and broken apart. One of the straps is largely delaminated; The other is COMPLETELY delaminated and was held together by e-tape.

I recently switched to nylon straps, trashed the old cinelli straps and kept the buttons for use on new nylon ones. I can pull them very tight, they stay tight and hopefully they will last longer.

Once again IME terrific waste of money. Use typical nylon straps until you're ready to drop $$$ for quality singles or perhaps doubles ala mks/toshi/kashimax ect.

BTW currently in the process of making DIY toe strap doublers.. using 2xnylon strap and cordura(nylon) fabric for strap doubler and sewing machine.

Although ultimately I would like to settle with a super quality single strap ala mks/toshi/kashimax (once again), becuase while they lasted, that suede leather sure felt pretty good...

the campagnolo singles on benscycle (about the same price), in my experience, are awesome. they're white, which might not be what you're going for, but they very quickly become close to that tan color of the cinellis.

I have these on my bike. I really liked the way they looked. I dont ride everyday, but rather often, and I have been using them for about 2 months. They look to be in perfect condition so far, and I wear them pretty tight, although I wear Vans when I ride, and have a smaller shoe size.

I am not familiar with "Cinelli Binda" straps but back in the 1970's Alfredo Binda straps, which were leather and had a layer of nylon laminated between 2 layers of leather were the best straps available.

Well, not exactly. Some Binda straps are great, some are mediocre. The Binda name refers to Alfredo Binda, a famous bike racer from the past. Bianchi Dino made a number of versions of Alfredo Binda straps when I was racing in the 1980's. Some were laminated, some weren't, some were wider than others at the buckle. I remember them being great straps twenty years ago. It looks like Silva may have taken over production of some of the Binda straps at one point. As I have no experience with Silva straps, I can't comment on them. It does seem as though some forum members have had issues with the Cinelli Binda straps and the Silva straps that resemble them. Reading about these troubles was enough to steer me in another direction. If you just want a pair of non-laminated brown Alfredo Bindas, they show up in New Old Stock condition from time to time. Though I would warn you to make sure the leather is still supple and hasn't dried out or rotted, which can happen even if they were never used.

sorry to bump, does anyone know if these work well w/ double gate clips? is the shoe guard (darker leather) too close together for this?

a friend got me a brand new set for xmas and i'm wondering if i should grab another set to match (he's shipping them when he gets back home in a week; don't have them in hand).

also, i'm curious and would like some clarification. there seems to be some bad experiences with cinelli laminated straps.
based on a few pics i've seen (ones in this thread, for instance), the straps issues were encountered look quite different from the cinelli binda ones in the OP's post (and that my friend got me).

Are the cinelli strap issues separate from the straps mentioned above?

I used the Binda/Cinelli's on a brakeless bike for almost a year. They held up, but barely. Those types of straps are not meant to be used on fixed gear, they are meant to be used on a road bike, where they will be subject to much less pulling force.

I recently switched to some toshi doubles, and the difference is night and day better. I can imagine that the toshi singles are also decent, but I would go with some doubles if you can afford it.

i ride campy (laminated) singles x2 on my vigorelli. insanely durable. i was hoping these would be similar.

+2 for the campy singles. Been running them for the past couple of months. Word of warning though, the natural leather sucks up dirt and grease like a mofo. The "white" is now a janky grey. Super tough set of straps though otherwise. Barely show any wear besides the grime.
