Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bern Baker...

Makes me look like a non-green taller/fatter version of

boooooooooooo

Also wearing the winter liner alone makes me look like a Japanese fighter pilot from WWII and w/the liner in the helmet, I look like a tank commander.

yeah. i'd say just get a nice road helmet. whether it's giro, bell, limar, etc. find the one that fits you best. no helmet is going to look "cool", and no helmet is going to look "undorky", or "unmushroomy", just wear one because that's the only thing other people are going to care about. not how you look. you'll just look like someone smart. good luck, have fun.
