Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Just how rugged is this bike? I don't exactly plan on beating it to pieces but, it will get a LOT of miles both recreational and commuting. How do they hold up?

Got close to 500 miles on mine. I replaced the freewheel because of some noise which seems common but that is about it.

Beat the **** out of mine for a year, now my son has been riding it hard for over a year! The wheels needed some attention but everything else about the bike is bomb-proof!

My '07 seems to be plenty solid. I really need to ride more these days...
