Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? If you live in Williamsburg

...Brooklyn, that is.

My boy Russ, former bike mechanic, fixie lover, coffee/beer addict is trying to take a vacation with some friends in a band, but lost most his money after missing his first flight. He just posted this on Myspace. Someone go say hi to the poor guy. He's South Florida Hillbilly, but that just might be perfect.

"i am sitting on the corner of 6th and whithe ave in will. behind a truck come say hi if you would like to see me as much as i would like to see you"

He has bright red hair and a beard. I'm actually serious. Go talk to the poor *******.

Coliseum out of Louisville? I'm pretty sure my friend told me this weekend that the drummer from his band The Kodiaks is also traveling with Coliseum. Small world. Unless i'm totally off, in which case...not so small world.

It's that Coliseum, they play Louisville all the time. The drummer is a fixed gear rider, Chris.

I watched the lead singer of Coliseum tear a mic cable in half at a show in 2004. That dude is ****ing strong. And angry.

Don't about three out of every four frequent posters to this forum live in Williamsburg? Surely somebody went and at least gave the guy a dap and bought him a coffee or something.

Wait, there are fixie riders in the 'burg?! I have to leave the Slope more often. Next thing your going to tell me is that people ride track bikes on the LES, and I'm just not sure I'm ready to contend with such a reality. Oh, wait a second. That couldn't be why there is a Giant called the Bowery and a Soma called the Delancy, could it???? I guess it'll only be a matter of time before people are riding the Trek Havemeyer.

PS- Somebody did get this guy a cup of Joe, right?

Ryan Patterson? Truth. He's scary.

I'm seeing them tonight (if we're all still talking about the real Coliseum) opening up for High On Fire. Can't wait!

How could we? There is no 6th st. in Williamsburg. There's a N 6th and a S 6th, but they are over 12 blocks apart. That's a long way to walk your bike if he's not at the first street you check.

He's hopefully still not there, but why do you have to walk your bike?
