    short pad on top tube in pictures

    I keep seeing this 4-5 inch pad on the top tube near the front -- what is the point of it?
    To protect the frame against your handle bars swinging back? (its a good idea, I might do that)
    To guard your shoulder against the frame when you pick it up?
    Do you keep hitting the tt with your crotch in the exact same spot?

    kashimax (sp?) gold tt protector, protects the frame from the handlebars.

    no, they are really short. I think they are for handlebars swinging.
