Would you rather have your FG decked out in Chris King and Thomson, or not have a single letter on the thing?

i'm sure the majority of us are left with a bitter taste in our mouths when we see the modern road bike, complete with 50 logos all clashing with eachother. apart from the frame decals, i prefer to look at blankness as opposed to nasty logos.

I don't really care that much as long as the parts work and look decent. If it's something I'm going to be locking up in public for long periods, I'd rather it be unbranded, though.

FYI man, alright. You could sit at home, and do like absolutely nothing, and your name goes through like 17 computers a day. 1984? Yeah right, man. That's a typo. Orwell is here now. He's livin' large. We have no names, man. No names. We are nameless!

I voted "none". I like the components and frames I buy and ride, obviously, but none of those companies gave me a cent to be their moving advertisement. I prefer a simpler, tidyer look, too.
I know my standpoint must be unpopular among the "pro" cyclist crowd - I mean, some cyclists pay good money to wear pants and jerseys full of advertisements. If you think about it for a moment, that's totally ********.

Somewhat related:
can you remove the Thompson, Chris King or anyones engraving without damaging the finish? I agree, these two companies are perhaps poor examples of gaudiness but it would be nice if the option to advertise was ours.

i'd rather have a bike covered in advertisements than one that i don't trust or one that isn't comfortable, reliable, or fast.
that said, i prefer the look of a bike with no huge logos on it. there are actually a lot of logos on my bike, but you don't see them when you look at it except maybe for the stem and bars... my chainring has 'salsa' machined into it but you can't tell unless you're looking... my cog has 'surly' etched in black on it but that's mostly covered by my track end, my cranks are so old the 'sugino vp' has been worn off mostly, and my fizik saddle is more subtle than an old school Vetta. my seatpost had easton **** literally all the **** over it, so i covered it in tape. my headset says cane creek aheadset in white on it but that's not a big deal because it's about as big as newsprint, and my wheels have easily removable 'alexrims' decals that i've removed... all but one, which i may remove if i decide against it. my front hub says 'shimano deore' but you don't see it unless you're looking through the wheel, my stem says 'itm supermillenium' and it's pretty gaudy but i'm not going to put tape over that... and my bars say '3t' and about fifty other words and an illustration of an electron path around a molecule because they think they're lightweight or something, which is ridiculous but mostly covered up by bartape. and i frequently change my handlebars so... yeah.
but basically, if it's where it counts i don't mind it.

seatpost logo, stem logo, wheel logos, name sticker. On my roadie, I like the level of logo I have achieved, I like it, I don't give a **** if other people don't.
Minimal logos is normally good.

I took all the logos off of my ride, except for the tire labels, and anything actually stamped into the component. I took my spokecards out, too. I just like plain, I guess.

As for cycling jerseys, this is what I think:
Best:
(I like orange, red and yellow)
Good:
Not good ("you can pay ME to wear YOUR ****, mmmkay?):
Same goes for bikes.

I think it's a decent thread. Some people like to show off their brand names as a sort of status symbol and others prefer not to pay to do a company's advertising.

Is it better to remain silent and be thought a fool, or post a stupid poll and remove all doubt?

I'm not a fan of giant logo jerseys but I'll choose them over anything primal wear every time. especially the relatively innocuous parmesan cheese one.

I don't like ambiguity, so I'll choose option C.

some new kind of kick
If the brand is Pogliaghi or something classic
then I'll go with brands, otherwise good components
are about function for me--I don't really care either way unless
the bike looks like a damn billboard which I hate--looks
like silly roadie stuff

I love those vintage wool jerseys. Too bad they're so damn expensive.
