Water bottle (waterbottle) clamps for track frames with no bosses.

Ever since I switched to using a seat bag I've had no where to carry a water bottle. I used to carry a large bottle off the rear seat rails using a triathlon style cage bracket. I could get a front handlebar mount, but sometimes I also like to ride with a handlebar bag, so that's a no go too. It seems Cannondale stopped making those wicked cool velcro bottles and cages I used to use on bikes with no water bottle cage braze-ons. So, where does that leave me. As a last resort, I could grab some of those old metal clamps for cages, but they can mar up a frame and I haven't seen them anywhere. Any other ideas for a simple, easy, and elegant solution to mounting a water bottle and cage to the frame of my track bike?

I found a velcro-on one made by TwoFish.

https://www.boomerdirect.shoppingcart...53/1226148.htm

^^There it is, I have no idea why it's $20, my LBS sold it to me with a bottle for under $5.

Or you could try a tri-style one that mounts on the seatpost (such as Profile Aqua Rack) and still get a saddle bag above it.

I use both depending on the conditions. The Aqua Rack looks dorky, so I only bust it out when I need 2 bottles. Otherwise it's the velcro on, or a small bottle in the jersey pocket.

Put some innertube between the clamp and the frame and you are golden. I've seen them in shops, keep your eyes open.

Also, hose clamps can work (with the inner tube, of course).

Harris sells these.

https://sheldonbrown.com/harris/accessories.html#bottles (scroll down a bit)

I use them and the work very well. They are a heay duty plastic so the wont scratch your frame or rust. The mounting bolts are stainless as well. You can order them through any shop that deals with QBP (Quality Bike PArts) and they will be cheaper. I bought 2 sets for $20 through my LBS.

handlebar mount, seat rail mount, velcro cages on the tubes. i feel like you could probably fit 8 or 10 bottles on most any bike, if you really wanted to.

maybe for a long downhill race? 10 extra pounds would make you fly.

I just ordered a Two Fish set up. Not the easiest thing to find funny enough. I'll also grab a handlebar mounted kit for longer rides.

It may not be neat but for thousands of miles I used 3M double sticky foam base tape between a standard bottle cage and the frame. Then I put two tie wraps for extra security. Never came loose.
When I finally removed it I first took off the tie wraps and it took a lot of prying to get the tape loose.

I took it off as I then drilled two holes in frame and installed 'threadserts', which worked well for a few more thousands of miles and looked a bit better.

The tie wraps and double tape looked like this:
