Pricing on a Used Fixie

Hey, I've been on road bikes for a while now, and I've been keeping my eyes open for a fixie for the last few weeks. One popped up in our college paper classifieds that seems alright, but I don't know if it's a good deal or not, as I have no experience with fixies. He wants $525 for it, and here are the specs:

Bertoni Special frame with Columbus SLX tubing
15 tooth dura ace cog (new)
new SRAM chain
42 tooth front chainring / Signature 175mm cranks
Miche Primato hub
Velocity Deep V 700c rims w/ new tires
Nitto Bullhorn Bars
Comes with a cheapie racing saddle and MKS pedals with straps

What do you guys think? Is that a good deal, or should I look elsewhere? Thanks!

Top tube protector?

Only kidding about the top tube protector, but in all seriousness - I can add up all of the prices of the new pieces of the bike, but I don't know how they depreciate, or people's opinions on the different parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i don't think that is too crazy of a price but still is a tad high. but defiantly offer him quite a bit less like romoni said maybe around $400.

Looks like this guy is trying to make his money back:

I'd say offer him $450. eBay prices are always inflated.

He probably spent that much on it if you add it up.

Just keep complaining about the cranks being 175 and pedal strike and act like you're not into it and cite bikesdirect prices for track bikes.

Anytime I'm buying a bike, no matter what I ask, "what do you need for it?" For whatever reason people always give an honest answer. If they need what they're asking they say it, but usually they tell you what they need for it and it's less. Not 100%, but I read them pretty well.
