Who has rode the furthest distance fixed gear style?

What is the furthest you've ridden your fixed gear?

I just got mine a few weeks ago, and its winter, so I've only taken it a few kilometers around town.

She did 1200k this year: https://sheldonbrown.com/pbp-emily-obrien.html

I usually don't do more than about 25 or 30 miles at a time fixed.

There are some hardcore distance riders on this board who do double centuries and more. I have done fixed cents and would like to go longer. Big distance on a fixed is not uncharted territory; it's been done and you can do it too.

The longest I did was an alleycat that ended up being 45 miles or so and two centuries. I'm not a hardcore distance cyclist though, just a commuter and scenester.

Though once my road bike is finished, I'll be doing some longer club rides and training. We'll see.

Nuts. Furthest I ever rode was 120 K (I think 85 miles is the conversion) on a touring bike in one day, I can't picture being able to do 40 miles fixed, let alone 1200.

that sounds like a blast. I do a 25 mile route every morning to wake myself up, in addition to all the riding i do throughout the day.

I do several 75ish mile rides usually in the Spring, with some pretty good hills to climb too on the route.

I know this might be a little OT, but do you tend to gear down for longer rides? I couldn't imagine doing in a century on 75-80gi, but I might just need to HTFU.

I like a 69 inch gear everywhere. It gets pretty brutal on long descents, especially after miles of riding, but overall it seems worth it for me.

i did a tour that was 60-70 miles per day over the course of 8 days... but the longest i've hit in a single is probably 100ish.

in june, i plan to tour oregon on my touring bike, but i haven't decided whether to keep it fixed or put the gears back on. i would have to ride over two mountain ranges, one being the cascades, so i'm not sure if it's even doable. starting at the pacific, i would be gaining almost 10,000 feet in elevation.

the only way i could see it working would be to have a fixed/fixed hub with a 17t/21t surly dingle on one side and a 15t cog on the other. then i could run a double or possibly a tripple crank up front.

Put the gears back on. If you are going to have that many combos, it might as well be easy to change between them. I am not sure how you would manage the chain tension with that set up.

Ive done a handful of longer rides between 70 and 100 miles fixed, sans brakes, and at 82.5 gear inches. The first couple of times the distance was unplanned so I just ended up doing it, the last couple I just really wanted to spend the day riding but I recently gave my other bike away to a close friend so I had no choice. I guess Im lucky Chicago is as flat as a pancake. The time I did like 35 miles in Saratoga Springs, NY with all those rolling hills, including on the side of the thruway, I had a little bit of a harder time, lol.

I've done 127 miles with 75.4 gear inches...not really a big deal in comparison to riding the same distance with gears as long as there aren't many gnarly hills. I often ride much farther, but my destination is usually Bear Mountain or some other giant hill that I would never want to climb with a fixed gear, so I almost always take the road bike.

I'm looking to ride across Canada on a fixed gear, albeit with gearing swaps for certain sections.

My longest fixed ride this summer was 90 miles.

A fixed Super Randonneur series last year, so 400 km in less than a day, 600 km in less than 2 days. Doing PBP on fixed was an option but not this time.
