Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Thanks man! Yeah, I saw that it was posted a couple of times in the picture gallery thread. I plan on photographing it built up with the proper wheels very soon and posting it around. Check out my blog over the next couple of weeks...

Baylis has told me in the past "I make 3 or 4 frames a year and have a 3 + year backlog. When someone comes to me and wants me to build them a frame, I tell them to go back and think about it for a year and then come back to me and ask again (if they are truly interested) and some of them do, some don't. Its how I keep track of who is serious about having me build them a frame."

or something like that....

He and I had a great conversation yesterday morning, too...

yeah like I said, to each his own. Had it been a actual vintage Hetchins I wouldn't have. I put deep v's on all my bikes because they're bombproof. That and they add an extra splash of color...

The fancyfancy stuff doesn't do it for me. Clean with a little flair... like a fine woman.
