How do you pronounce "Mercier"?

How do you pronounce "Mercier"?

Would it be "mur-see-yer"? Or "mur-see-yay"? Or something else entirely?

Three syllables? Or just two? "murce-yer"? "murce-yay"?

Oh, and should I get a Kilo TT or should I buy a used Motobecane road bike from my LBS that has been converted to a fixie that has really nice wheels and tires and a really nice saddle for $450? The frame is 7005 aluminum, the fork is carbon. It's got some decent components on it. I plan to use the bike as a commuter.

The Moto is $100 more expensive than a Kilo TT from bd, but I get to support the LBS, have a place for service when I need help, and the components are probably better.

BTW, the LBS has a couple of those no-name aluminum bikes that appear to me to be the same as the ones sold by we-sell-xs on e-bay. Dude wants to make a profit off them, so he's selling for $300 or so. I've got no problem with that. The only reason I bring it up is that these things are CRAP-OLA. They look and feel like toys.

If anybody has ridden a Kilo TT and one of these no-names, is there any comparison? The Motobecane is WAYYYYY better than the no-name. For the $150 difference, I would DEFINITELY go with the Motobecane in a second. If the Kilo TT is going to be anything like the no-name, I'm DEFINITELY going with the Moto.

You better have NEVER complained about some foreigner butchering english.

I always make an effort to be as educated as possible about pronunciations.

Yeah you're probably right. I think I'll open up my own thread about pronunciations. In fact, I think I'll open it up around two hours before this one.

Generally, the accent in Italian is on the next-to-last syllable.

What Alum Moto frame has horizontal drops or track ends that would allow for a conversion? You have to be able to move the wheel laterally to adjust chain tension or be stuck with some bizarro gearing and/or expensive solutions like an ENO hub.

PS. Rich Boy is singing about Deep-Vs-- "Just bought a track frame, THROW SOME DEEP-VS ON THAT *****"
