Kashimax Aero
Is this saddle any good? I found a new shop today that is hands down the best shop I've been to in Cleveland, and they have a ton of NOS parts and pulloffs. This was just sitting on the counter, pulled off an old bike that they were converting to FG (it wasn't a customer's bike either, just old stock).
It's sort of silvery champagne color. For $10 it seems like a steal, but I only want to buy it if it's going to be better than my white Turbo. I only don't like the Turbo because it's heavy and leather, but I like it's aesthetics.
Anybody rock the Aero?
edit-This is the version with padding. Will it be more comfy than my rock-hard Turbo?
edit 2-Ah **** I'm an idiot. The thing is NJS. I'm buying it tomorrow.

for 10 bucks it's not a bad deal at all. considering that i believe that leather and turbo > something plastic, but ride it, and let us know how it rides :-D

just because it's njs doesn't mean you need to buy it tomorrow.

Every old Kashimax BMX saddle I've ever seen has the NJS stamp. I'm guessing they used the same plastic shell for every saddle, and covered some.

The padded Aero saddles I've seen have the EXACT same shape at the standard teardrop Concor saddle.
If it were mine, I'd sell it as NJS/TRACK/PISTA/FIXED GEAR on eBay and get a cheaper, softer Italian saddle. I love the Koga Miyata, personally.

I really like those saddles! I'll gladly pay you twenty bucks for it if you don't want it.
(edit)It's less padded than your turbo, which I always thought were too cushy...

Cain Park. Reasons why they kick everyone's ass:
1) The owner is very nice and helpful
2) They know what they're talking about
3) They sell Bianchi so they have higher end stuff too
4) They have lots of tools for sale
5) They don't charge much for shop work
I would gladly pay more for stuff for good service but it seems I don't have to make the tradeoff there. I got a Hozan lockring wrench there today for $15. I'm definately going back for other things I need.

If you like the way it feels under your taint, it's a good saddle. At a price of ten bucks, I'll bet you ten bucks that you can afford to try it out.

definitely a good buy for $10. if you get tired of it you could sell it in Japan for five bazillion yen after opening a fixed-specific accessories shop in a relatively trendy neighborhood.

I will give you $40 plus postage for it after you buy it.
That thing is old and rare, and very cool, many guys over here would love to use that for a build up.
Some of you need to switch your brain off once in a while, and think using a combination of heart and penis.

maybe you can do the 'turn a paper clip into a house' thing.
Sell this and buy a turbo, sell the turbo and get a brooks, sell the brooks and get a campagnolo (the one with the gold back and pump thing), sell that and get a Cinelli NJS saddle! Then swap the Cinelli saddle with me for the Kashimax aero. Win win.

If you aren't going to be riding in a track oriented position that saddle will not be comfy. The turbo is much more comfy saddle for being plastic. I'd reccomend riding a real leather saddle and quit *****ing about weight.
Your ass deserves comfort and there is no way any plastic saddle can compare to a brooks/ideale/wrights etc...
