Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Brian Vernor at the Vanilla Workshop

Film maker and photographer Brian Vernor will be showing his "painted in the mud" series of photos at the Vanilla Bicycle Workshop for the month of December. The show is made up of images from all six Grand Prix cyclocross races in 2006, which brian toured with both as a racer and documentarian. The stuff is epic and beautiful.

I want to invite anyone living in Portland, or coming to Portland for the USGP cross weekend to join us for the opening on Friday November 30th from 6pm-midnight.

You can expect good music and Portland's best brown from Stumptown Coffee roasters to be flowing all night. And of course there will be some bikes to check out. Guests are welcome to bring their own tasty beverages too.

More information here.

Hope to see you there,

Sacha

hi Sacha,

when checking out your site recently, i came across some art by one of my good friends (dan gilsdorf), and was pleasantly surprised. just wanted to say hello, and that i'm a big fan of your work. it's a small world, and dan is such a rad guy.. its cool to see him getting down with your thing.

regards, and good luck with the opening. wish i could make it.

Hi Seth,

I agree, Dan is super, and has been great to work with on the Series of prints. I even have a llittle of his tattoo work on me, although nothing that shows his depth of talent.

Thanks for saying hi, and stop by if you come to Portland.

that rules! dan did a little tattoo for me, several years ago, of my dog's name in fancy script, in my wrist.
(and he made my wife and me a VERY nice quilt when we had our son a few years ago) very talented guy.. that whole kohler thing he did sounds insane!! (im sure he told you about it)

anyway, thanks for the invite... i was telling him recently how i was really into your stuff, so i would LOVE to come see your workshop in person... i will make certain that it happens.

do you have prints of the art for sale?

i'd be down to buy one of each( assuming there is more than one)

sorry to threadjack!
