Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Too bad $1000 isn't a lot of euro's nowadays.. But it's a hell of a lot more money than you'll get for it in the EU (except britain maybe)

Yeah, the dollar is worth about as much as a post-it note now.
Whatever its worth in America, that frame would sell for double here in Japan.

I don't think it's all that big. 58 or so I guess. Probably too small for me, actually. The headtube isn't that long.
Yeah, it's hot. Not my kind of frame, but very hot nonetheless.

value is different for what people will pay. think about the campy sheriff star hubs. yeah, stupid pricing indeed. but, if someone wants to buy something off you for a ridiculously high price - do it. however, one fool's bad use of money does nothing to establish an item's true value.

do you think there was an increase in market value on eye-disease sculptures when Crispin Glover purchased a bunch of them? but people will find a reason to want something and then pay an off-chart price for it, just to have it. which is fine i guess. not always smart, but fine.

I would say that frame, being a MAPEI edition Colnago track frame and fork, is worth about 750-800.

at some point colnago must have thought it'd be a good idea to go head-to-head with landshark paint jobs. this particularly frame is fairly tame, but the detailing is a ****ing abomination. jesus christ.

MAPEI was an abomination. Almost as bad as a comic sans toptube pad

Oh yeah, it'll be a blast while you're doing it, but you'll be miserably embarrassed if any of your friends see you
