24 spoke flipflop hub?
i've got a set of wheels that i'm not using from an hybrid that have 24 spokes. i'm wondering if it's possible to find a flipflop to rebuild the same wheel. it would be nice because i don't have a lot of bread right now to buy new wheels, but this would work out dandy if i could find a flipflop for 24 spokes.
anyone know?
thanks in advance,
scott

hello
You can easily build your wheels using 36-hole hubs with your 24 spoke rims. I think trying to find a 24 hole flip flop hub is next to impossible.

Only 24 hole flip flop hub I know of is Phil wood, but they are fairly expensive and since you said you are on a tight budget, I had a set of wheels built on a set of high flange 24 hole phil wood hubs from businesscycles. They don't list them as a standard on philwoods web site though.

Sounds like you want to reuse the rim to build a new wheel which is generally not a good idea. Plus, you will probably need new spokes because the chances of the existing ones being the right size are very small, so no money save there. Plus, I personally wouldn't build any wheel, much less a fixed rear, with less than 32 spokes.
aebike.com has a Suzue 36 hole flip-flop for 25.99 and you can get an Alex rim for 15.99 - sure it's heavy, but it's triple box construction and it's cheap. Add some spokes and you should only be around $60.
