Peugot

Hey guys, I've got an older Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike converted over with street tires, but it is aging and has seen better days. I saw on ebay this Peugot single speed road bike and it looks really cool! It is 56 cm (I am 6'1). I was wondering if this is a good bike to use to commute to work/school (~3 mi each way, basically flat).

For the (as of 7 am right coast time) $100 (bid plus ship), you could probably find a decent bike locally.

That said, I've got an old Pug that I purchased in 85 and converted to single speed in 2003. It's been a solid commuter and a great knock around ride.

i'd advise against it, as replacing/upgrading certain parts will be a pain. you can search the board for examples...

Hey if you want to pay shipping or if you live within driving distance of corvallis oregon, I've got a mid 80's schwinn road frame that I'd give ya; i'm not sure what size it is exactly but I'm 5'11 and its barely too big for me and then you wouldn't have to deal with all those f'd up french sizes and what not. I was just going to turn it into a beater bike to loan to friends anyway and I have too many bikes as it is right now

PS
i'd also include original bb/headset/cranks, the paint job is a lil bit scratched up but it looks really cool and vintage like

Hey cool, do you have any pictures of it? I wouldn't be able to drive up there, but I can pay to have it shipped of course.

Also, would it be hard to fix up my specialized? The rear rim is a little bent and it doesn't shift well. Although it has new brakes and tires. It would be cool to take it all apart, repaint it and convert it single speed I think. THe frame is pretty good.

56cm is way too small for you, svek. You would probably fit better on a 60cm.
