Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

If you want bike shop swag, tell her to go to Orange20 which is the best fixed gear shop in the city.

Orange20 t-shirt
Bike Kitchen t-shirt
and then have her get some handmade ice cream (for herself, I recommend olive oil and sea salt if he has it made) at Scoops - they are all on Heliotrope ave, just across the street from one another: Bike Kitchen and Scoops on one side, Orange20 on the other!

The cyclists at orange 20/bike kitchen are the very nice I was there around new year and a meter maid was going to ticket me and someone covered me. Whoever that was, thank you again.

Don't forget to get some good beer and vegan food from Pure Luck. If you're not vego, go get some yummy Empanadas from Rincon Chileno, or the Guatemalan restaurant/Bakery on Santa Monica.

I hear you, but I'm not going on this trip, and I don't know LA that well. Plus, she's pregnant, so I doubt that she's going to run all over town for a souvenir. And, she doesn't really ride bikes.

Tell her that her safe return and that of your unborn child is all you could possibly want.

That'll totally score you points.
