Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

What kind of stem do you prefer?

I just noticed that the one thing sticking out about my khs flite 100 is the ugly angled stem at a 65 degree drop (the kind of stem that usually comes with road bikes). I am most likely going to switch to risers/straight bars (I have drops right now). What kind of stems do you guys think I should get for my flite? A nitto pearl, nitto flat threadless, or a nitto jaguar?

I have a relatively flat stem, however I am switching to a Nitto Pearl as soon as possible. That doest help much Im sure, but thats the answer you get with a vague question.

you should ride a stem that's two feet long and has a 234 degree drop.

The Nitto Jaguar stem is for a threaded headset. You want a stem
that bolts right onto the steerer tube, for your threadless setup.

Just my take...
The dimensions of the stem is dictated by the fit you want with the bars you want. e.g. drop and length
something you shouldn't be asking about.

The style is something completely different. The shape, color, material etc.

I am guessing from the statement above that you have a threadless fork. Pick a stem based on the length and angle that will work best for you. It is difficult to know what to recommend without knowing how your bike fits. I would take your bike into a shop that you like. They will have a range of lengths and angles to help fine tune your fit. Threadless stems are quick to swap out, so you can usually try several.

Dude, get the Jaguar. Trust me, you'll love that with your unthreaded fork.
