Visiting San Diego..
Hi Friends,
I going to am visit San Diego Feb 8-10.
Can anyone suggest any places to eat (veggie preferred), bike shops to check out, things to see, places to go. I've been to Pokey's before and The Casbah, I'd like both of them.
Thanks in advance,
Erin Nicole

My wife and I went to Stephanies Bakery while we were out there. They had amazing vegan brick oven pizza and pastries. We also went to Veg'n Out and were not very impressed.

Bike shops: Velo Culture, Mission Hills Bikes, and (I personally detest them but for some reason they thrive despite their crappy service and attitude) Adams Avenue Bikes.
Extraordinary Desserts in Hillcrest is awesome.
If you want a good long climb, ride to the top of Mount Soledad. It's normally a roadie thing, but if you're strong you can do it in an hour or so no problem. Bring $3 to get through the gate at the park up top, and you'll see an amazing panoramic view of San Diego.

For good vegan mexican food, you can try Ranchos (one in North Park at 3910 30th St, San Diego, CA, think there's another in Ocean Beach), or Don Carlos in La Jolla (at 737 Pearl st. #113).
The view from Mount Soledad is really good, and it's definitely a steep climb.

Repost from Velo Culture: Hiring mechanic
Posted by velo culture
"we are looking for an EXPERIENCED mechanic in the shop. if you know how to wrench and you've worked in a shop before hit me up. we are VERY finicky as to who we let into our world you must know. if you know someone perfect for this let them know.
to do all the things we want to do with this biz me and Anthony need more free time.
must have experience in shops, be a really good tech, people skills, and above all must be able to fit into the culture and personality of the shop. also, needs to be able to mesh with existing employee's personalities. sales would also be required as people in this shop do it all. sales, good tech, good personality, bike nerd... yeah, i want it all."
You can get a job while you're there too!
