Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Longmont, CO Bike Polo

Anyone near Longmont play? urban style, fixies on pavement, not mountain bikes on turf. If so shoot me an email, trying to get some games together.

I have a couple of fixies and would love to learn the polo thing. I have a few friends that would be down as long as it would be relaxed and beer friendly. I also live in Lville near the Alby's. Get back to me and let's figure something out.

P.S. I ride brakeless, does that effect the game?

I think that when the weather warms up, we'll be playing up in Boulder, probably at the South Boulder Rec. street hockey courts. I know of at least 4 or 5 people willing to play here, so it shouldn't be too hard to get a game together.

If you guys have a game in Lville, I could be convinced to come out there...

I don't think I can make it out this year...but I'm moving to NYC for school next year, and it'll be a lot easier to do stuff like that once I'm on the East Coast, what with it being a bus ride instead of a plane ride and all...

I may be in or near Boulder for part of the summer, and if so I will try to get ahold of someone.

the west side polo invite might be a little easier for you to reach.
fixed is fun, but give the freewheels a little love too.

good luck! the polo community is here for you if needed

i've never played bike polo. but, none of my friends ride, so if there's ever any group/fun rides happening around the boulder county area let me know. i'm getting sick of always riding alone, it'd be cool to meet some cycling/fixed enthusiasts.
