It's weird, though...by doing a Google image search, I find a lot that have a sloping TT and a lot that don't.

Well it all depends on what size frame you are looking at. It appears the 49cm and 53cm slope the most while oddly enough the 51cm is pretty close to level. Everything larger than 53cm are perfectly level with the 55cm looking proportionally the best.

49cm (top tube slopes even more than the 53cm)

51cm (top tube slopes even less than the 53cm)

Hmm oddly I don't mind the slope of that 49, I mean level is better but it's not terrible.

For whatever reason, I find aluminum frames with oversized tubes more appealing to the eye when they have sloping top tubes.

Don't leader frames have that same deal going on for them with the Top tube slopeage?

Actually, it all makes a lot of sense if you look at the individual tubing lengths. The HT on the 49cm and 51cm are the same but the ST on the 49cm is shorter, so the TT slopes more. Also note that the ST is measured center of BB to top of the ST and that the ST on the 49cm extends about 1cm more above the TT than on the 51cm, so the difference between the 2 frames sizes is even less. There is only a 2mm difference in effective horizontal TT length between the 49cm and 51cm, which is insignificant. Finally, the HT and ST angles are the same, 74 and 76 degrees respectively, on the 49cm and 51cm frames. I could just as easily ride a 51cm as a 49cm and have exactly the same seat to pedal to bar position. The only difference would be about 1cm less junk standover clearance on the 51cm. So, basically, the 49cm and 51cm frames are virtually the same, but the 53cm is significantly different. If I cared about hipster points, I'd get the 51cm.

That picture is amazing. I posted it on styleforum a few years back before I even got into cycling. The right angle can make any bike come alive.

Why do people put higher asking prices then say explicitly that they will lower it? So pointless
