Budget frame that uses a bmx headset?

Ok so i know alot of frames use a 1" head tube. Well i realized i have 2 mountain bikes that i can part out for 80% of the parts plust a headset from my bmx bike. All i need is wheels a chain and a frame.

So im looking for a budget frame which uses a 1 1/8" headset. THen after i cannibalize the mountain bikes for the parts i need. Im putting the stuff in the "pass it on" thread.

Instead of buying a specific frame so you can reuse a $20 headset, why don't you just buy whatever frame you want and get a different $20 headset if need be?

Fair enough.

I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with WillyPilgrim on something, but I'd look into that leader frame.

that will not last me its 6061 T6 aluminum. Not that solid of stuff. If it was 7071 or 7075 then i would consider it. im willing to spend up to 300 ish on a frame.

pass it on thread is where people put up stuff for free. like pay it forward, ya know?
Anyways, look into IRO frames, though I think they use 1". 1 1/8" head tubes seem a little rare on cheaper frames, brass knuckle maybe? I know my bareknuckle is 1 1/8.

then get the 735, i don't know.

or buy a cheaper steal frame and just buy another king headset.

how long did you want your 'cheap' frame to last you?

you're sounding more absurd by the post.

I guess I have no clue what beef we have, since I can't really identify you as a poster yet it's groundbreaking and noteworthy that you agree with me.

my posting and opinions are exquisite.

I am replying to this thread just for fun. 6061 who uses it? hmm well Leader for one yes then hmm Intense bikes, hmmm then we’ll wait there is Turner, orange cycles, and many others. Did I forget suspension forks are also made of 6061 fox, rock shox, and others. Shocking isn’t it?

Most of the IRO's are 1 1/8 headtube. Everything but the Angus.

Metallurgy is a hobby. And i havent had good luck with 6061. Thats why i made my own sprockets when i use to bmx. I use 7075 cause ive never bent a part made from it.
