Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Swobo Del Norte SS

I was near Swobo's office in Sausalito and spotted Erin riding the yet-to-be-released Del Norte. It's a nice looking bike. It will be available in a couple of weeks for under $700.

For some reason it reminds me of a cross between a pista and a bare knuckle. Not a fan of the fork aesthetically, but it looks like a fun bike.

I dunno, I've never ridden a Swobo, but the ones in the LBS looked kinda crappy - ugly and made with cheap components. That one looks a little nicer I suppose.

Wonder what the tire clearance is? For $700 complete it might be the nextish fixed monstercross bike. Sure would be cool if it were disc ready.

Who is Erin and what's her phone number? I'd have a few bike-related questions to ask from her.
