Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

lunchtime ride pics, 6 inches of water.

lots of rain this morning + snow melt = roads that look like this.
there was a parking lot where i got in over my bottom bracket.
my girlfriend was a lot happier on her road bike, since she could coast through the puddles, but i road my fixed gear, so i ended up putting my feet under a lot of water.

it's a good time so long as the temps are above 50 or so. i'd imagine the OP was pretty well frozen if he was out in that for more than 30 minutes.

i do too, but going back to work with wet clothes sucks, especially if you don't have a change of clothes handy.

I inadvertently rode into about 3" of mud, but somehow I made it out.

kinda looks like back home in india when it used to rain. We would get crazy pooling of water in the streets. Too bad no fixed gears there and more importantly too bad i didn't know how to ride a bike.

looks like a ton of fun though
