Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Sutter's Collectibles on EBAY??

has anybody ever run into this store before? i am slightly confused as to why they are selling wheels but they also have good prices which are very tempting. any words of wisdom? should i go for it or stick with wheelandsproket? or does anybody else know where i can get a set of built fusions?

My friend used them, he lowballed them on best offer for some all black Deep Vs and they let them go for way cheap. Shipping took a while but they got there.

I got a pair of deep v's laced to formulas from them for $160. They included veloplugs. They are well built. If they have the wheels you want, I see no reason to not buy from them.

i bought my wife's aeroheads from her. they are fine. i offered 20 dollars less and she accepted. but, they took a long time (a month) to get to me and thats only because i had to harrass her to finally get them sent. she wouldn't give me any shipping confirmation or even an explanation. she only said "i'm not in charge of the wheels. its not my fault." and she never did give me feedback. it was a bad ebay experience for me. still the wheels were a good price, but i'd rather pay a little more than go through her BS again. Bens was better and so was Bells.

since it never actually said 'velocity' in the item description for the fusions, i asked, and this was the response i got

"Good morning,
I list items for other people trying to supplement my S.S. which is why I list different kinds of things.
These wheels were special made, from Asia, very similar to Velocity. Hold up as well as Velocity.
Spring Sale !
P.S. The bike wheels will be tensioned and trued before you get them"

i think i'll take your advice hooters and pay a little more. but does anybody know where to get a set of formula/fusions?

yeah i know about bens, my beef is just the high prices. i would be looking at about $265 before shipping and that seems a little high. so besides getting them custom and spending more $$ is there anywhere else? if not i may end up just going the bens route, or possibly building my own, but if anyone knows a good place drop me a line.

I thought the "Fusion" wheels were not Velocity. They are the Non-Velocity wheel sold by IRO.

those wheels are pretty close. i have a set, and they've been really solid. i alos have a set of aeroheads from the same guy. the only problem i've run into is that the woman who has the ebay account knows almost nothing about bike stuff.

IRO's are "Cold Fusion"

Velocity Fusions are supposed to split the diff between Aeroheads and Deep V's

which are pretty close? the 'fusions' that are on sutter's? i am skeptical as the response i got stated that they weren't actually velocity's, and i don't want to be "the name brand only guy" but i also don't want a set of s***ty wheels.

yeah, the "fusions." i've talked to the guy that builds the wheels, he doesn't seem like a bad dude. they seem like fusions to me, no one i've met has been able to tell a difference.

Hmmm honestly if its the price your worried about, go with that sutters lady. i think all her wheels are velocity - look at the feedback. i just didnt like waiting a month and having her blow me off when i wanted shipping confirmation. she does get good reviews. my wife's wheels were velocity brand aeroheads. I've never heard of a generic fusion out there.

i'm not overly concerned with price really but i dont mind saving a few bucks if i can. i was just comparing ben's to the average price of deep v's on ebay. i could do with waiting a month as i just had to exchange the frame today, so all in all i probably will end up going with these. thanks

so after hearing many of you talk about month+ wait times for shipping i was quite surprised to get an email this morning with a tracking number, without my prompting, and i just ordered them three days ago. maybe she has remedied her S&H problems.
