Just some simple noob questions
1. Is it better to look NOT AT ALL like the stereotypical fixed gear/track bike rider (messenger bag, tight jeans/cutoffs, tatts, cap, mini U-lock, etc) or look exactly like one? (I'm updating my spring wardrobe). Which will make the people say, "Dang! He looks like a real bike messenger!"?
2. How many people should have come before you before you start riding fixed gear/track bikes? Should I get to know 10 fixed riders BEFORE I start riding myself? Perhaps 30? Or should I start riding NOW and then meet other fixed riders? Which way will make me LESS hipster?
3. Are you MORE real if you know other fixed gear riders? What if you're the only fixed gear rider you know? Does that make you uber real? Or super fake?
4. Should I go NJS now so people think I'm hardcore? Or go budget now? Won't people think I'm hardcore either way? Budget = hardcore hippie. NJS = hardcore trackstar.
5. Should I get an aerospoke for the front only? Or the rear only? Or both? What makes one better than the other? Which way is more "hardcore messenger"?
Sorry for all the questions. I just wanna be as real as I can be, ya know?

perhaps you should take up gaming.
or something that involves less human interaction.
that way you have less points to properly cover.

Dress like an 80's skater, its way cooler and you get more vintage for your buck
2. How many people should have come before you before you start riding fixed gear/track bikes? Should I get to know 10 fixed riders BEFORE I start riding myself? Perhaps 30? Or should I start riding NOW and then meet other fixed riders? Which way will make me LESS hipster?
Its not about how many come before, its about how many you get to follow you. note the above dress
3. Are you MORE real if you know other fixed gear riders? What if you're the only fixed gear rider you know? Does that make you uber real? Or super fake?
see no. 2
4. Should I go NJS now so people think I'm hardcore? Or go budget now? Won't people think I'm hardcore either way? Budget = hardcore hippie. NJS = hardcore trackstar.
either way is fine.
5. Should I get an aerospoke for the front only? Or the rear only? Or both? What makes one better than the other? Which way is more "hardcore messenger"?
dont go aerospoke, go zipp
