Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Their website says "TruVativ made this crank for a another manufacturer who's logo is still on the crank. " I maybe mistaken but those cranks come on a lot of entry level complete bikes. You may be better off trying to find some one who is upgrading and has one laying around.

Truvativ makes the touros which come on many entry level bikes and look similar to those with the exception of the outboard BB. I wonder if these are maybe something truvativ is moving towards to replace the touros

I don't see a crank like this anywhere in the TruVativ lineup. It's certainly not their outboard bearing track cranks, the Omnium. I think these are a little suspicious.

ya they don't necessarily have to be in the truvativ lineup as they are OEM products made for a different company. I wouldn't be surprised to see these come out soon as a replacement for the touros though

Outboard bearing cranks - soon to be obsolete technology. And rightfully so. Long live square taper!

At that price for the crank and cups it may be worth a try. I have had good luck with bikeman in the past.

$80 for the crank and bearings is a really good price. With an Origin8 and Sugino bottom bracket you're looking at $80, with an Andel instead you're over $100.

Lighter and stiffer than square-taper, longer lasting than an ISIS or Octalink.

They're sourced from Lemond Fillmores. It appears they are 3/32" rings. The BCD is most likely 130 NOT 144. It is essentially the GXP version of the Touro singlespeed cranks. Nice still at $80. I picked up a set too. A TA ring in 1/8" for the set still puts them under the $250 mark Benscycle wants for the Omniums. Hell, I may just leave the 44t on and run a smaller rear cog...

only problem for me is that i had to look kind of hard for 22t freewheel at a decent price, so i can run singlespeed offroad and not kill myself walking

What kind of tool do you need to install the cups? Can they be hand tightened? Will my Hozan work?
