Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Cannondale made a SS frame?

They make a track frame, but I saw in a catalog that they made a SS frame?

Anyone seen one, or know of the geomtry? I can't find it on thier web site.

I've seen one of their 1fg bikes, singlespeed mountain bikes, vertical drops though and no chain tensioner so presumeably not much choice on the gearing front. Looked good though, rough alu finish with graffiti style stickers. Seemed a bit too much of a hopping on the SS bandwagon though and at $750 was a tad expensive if very light.

I built one, out of an old C-dale frame, it's the only SS I have at the moment.

I emailed C'dale, and thier "messenger" is actually just a flat black version of their track frame. Same geom.. etc.

Not that I have the money for that.. but.. you know.

it's probably (hopefully) a little heavier frameset, beefier in key areas (like all over). it better be if they're going to call it "messenger"

person 1: "hey, what's that crimping on your top tube by the seat tube?"

person 2: "oh, that's just where i grab the bike to shoulder it."

person 1: "shouldn't it NOT do that?"

person 2: "naw, it's supposed to do that, it's a new feature. cannondale calls it a "form fitting top tube."
