Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

We have a leather shop in town that will releather a Brooks for $40 or so. They can do custom branding on it as well.

I would imagine it is difficult. If it were easy, Everyone would make homemade saddles instead of buying
a Brooks.

You might ought to see if Brooks will re-leather a saddle for you.

Deer hide is too thin for saddles, sorry. I'd place a bet that anyone who could do a re-leather job as good as a new Brooks would charge more then just buying a new one.

Be careful what grade of leather and the dye used on it.
It may stain your butt.
