Accidentally NJS?

I always subconciously snicker when i hear about someone's new NJS build, mainly taking the stance that restricting builds based on era/region/racing class/etc is sortof a corny idea in a "not that it's any of my business or anything" kinda way.

Today, however, i realized that i've accidentally built a bike with an almost entirely njs drivetrain:
rx-1
suntour superbe pro track
sugino zen
izumi super toughness
eai superstar

I didn't plan it that way, and never would've guessed i've been riding on so much overhyped japanese componentry for this long. Not sure how i never connected the parts.

Anyone else accidentally running an njs (partial) group?

Your cranks and cog aren't NJS as far as I know.

The only NJS **** I rock is a Kashima 5gold and my 75s.

My mountain bike has an njs hub. It seems to work okay for ancient technology.

My cog/lockring and chain are all NJS, so it appears I'm in the same boat as you. Dura ace and Izumi just happens to be what I ended up with, I dont worry about it. My pedals and clips are NJS as well, but I would venture to guess damn near everyone who rides clips and straps on here has NJS pedal set ups.

My mistake. Those cranks are nice. I somehow misread your post.

The thing is that so many track components are NJS, so it's easy to "chance" into them if you buy 1/8" Dura Ace cogs or high-end metal track cranks. For most of us though, the NJS stamp is just incidental.

I went to have a cog and lock ring ripped off a wheel i pulled out of the trash and have it put on my first set of track wheels. Dan spun off the loctited lock ring, was cleaning the crap off it and notice, Dura Ace - NJS , didn't use it, too much loctite buggering it up. But thats the only njs part i have ever owned, a lockring i pulled out of the trash.

the only njs parts ive got are my clips (cheap mks) and my seemingly overpriced toshi singles. turns out that paying $70 AUD for straps was the best idea EVER. ive replaced almost every other part and my toshis are still holding me in no matter how hard i pull.
