Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Asking where you can get a twisted spoke wheel built is like asking where you can buy a tallbike...

We have places you can hire lawyers instead. That's definitely a bad thing.

any decent wheel builder should be able to tackle this project. it isn't hard. In fact, you can twist the spokes currently on your wheel one time provided they aren't too short. In my '90's BMX days I twisted spokes on tons of the wheels I built. 4 twists on a 20" wheel was tough.

If you do get one made, be sure to post pics of the finished product. I've really been thinking of doing this for my townie SS.

twisted-spoke front wheels can be great... although I found a four twist reeked-havoc on my sealed-bearing front hub over regular use on the streets of Boston (that was also with a CXP rim, that may or may not have played a role).
