Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

RAGBRAI anyone?

Howdy fella's,
Just wondering if any of you guys are coming out for RAGBRAI this summer?

This will be my seventh in a row and its a blast. Its going to be about 470 miles this year. Its really not that difficult, you've basically got all day to get to each of the over-nite towns and it sure as hell ain't a race. You'll meet some great freindly folks. It's kinda known as mardi gras on wheels.

Over the years i've been seeing more and more single/fixed riders so it's doable. I use an older road bike with the good ol' down tube shifters but have been tempted to go the single speed route.

Anywho, if anyone is looking for one of the greatest bike experiances ever come on over to iowa the last week of july and have a blast you won't regret it!
