31.8 bullhorns?
I bought a used T1 and want to put bullhorns on it. I could use a shim and put my Soma or Nitto bars on, but since it already has the 31.8 stem, I'd like to try try some 31.8 bars to get the extra stiffness people say the larger diameter gives. (And with the stock road road bars, it does feel very solid.) Any recommendations? I read a couple old threads but wanted to hear what's new. Most of the bullhorn/TT bars I've found are 25.4 or 26; nitto, soma, easton, profile design.
thanks.
thanks.

This is quite a good and easy way to do it
I did it with almost no input from the internet, just looked at one or two first,

- I got a Permanent pen measured twice
- wrapped next to the cut in masking tape (not needed if you are good with a hacksaw)
- Cut it
- Filed it down
- Used first cut off piece to mark up for second side
- Cut just outside for second side
- Filed down second side

i jam my thumbs up and back into the tubes. this way i can point my fingers straight out in front to split the wind and attain an even more aero profile, and the usual fixed gear - zen - connectedness feeling through the drivetrain is multiplied ten fold because my thumbs become one with the tubing.

There's a set of profile Airwing OS bullhorns sitting around the bike co-op. If they weren't too big for me (42cm) they would already be on one of my bikes.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking about chopping the stock road bars, but the segment between the first and second curves is really short, and then the second curve is quite sharp, which I think would put the bar-end front brake lever I like to run at a wide angle from the chopped bars.
Yeah, those Deda's look sweet. I couldn't find them online either. So I assume you bought them in Italy, Aldone?
