Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

PS, i'm really just being difficult on purpose. Roller races seem interesting, but i've never actually been to one.

It's no more dumb than some lame themed alley cat or local bar crawl group ride.

If any of you are in London when a Rollapaluza is on I highly advice you come along and have a go it will be an excellent night. Winston and Caspar and the rest of the Rollapaluza crew are very friendly and put on a good night. They have even put up with a drunk me before.

The rapha roller races in portland were pretty fun to watch. Id recommend checking them out before casting justice. I know it does sound lame.

But you get drunk and make $1 bets with your buddies on who will win. Then you cheer your guy on and get a buck from your friend and put it towards another beer. Good times.
