44mm chainline on Paul track hubs
Quick question, I am considering Paul track hubs with 44mm chainline. Is there another crankset (other than the Paul cranks) that has this dimension?

you just need the correct length bottom bracket for whatever crankset you buy. the best thing to do is get the cranks you want and take the bike into a shop that has multiple BBs to find the right one.

You can use a 110.5mm or 111mm to get close to the chainline you need.
Paul actually recommends the 111mm Campy BB for their cranks, so they're probably using a 44mm chainline on the front as well.

He doesn't want to use the Paul cranks. Since the standard issue track crank is a 42, you could get by putting a 1mm shim in on the drive side of the bottom bracket, assuming your using a cartridge type. This would get you within 0.04", plenty close.

Thanks guys for the help. I have a jacked up chainline on my current bike and I'd love to get it close to perfection on the next build-up. Noisy drivetrain, FTL.

might be good to change your cog with it, especially if the cog you are on now has mid-range or worse wear.

This would be a perfect place to throw on some Sugino RD2/Messenger cranks. Or, like has been said before, use whatever cranks you would use if the chainline were 42mm, then get a compatible BB with a spindle 4mm longer.
